Logging

Logging is beneficial for fire safety, forest re-generation and creating animal habitat.

One of the leading reasons for logging in the Rockies, is the removal of trees infected by mountain pine beetle. The beetle epidemic has left millions of acres dead and dying in colorado. Both Ponderosa, Lodgepole and Spruce trees have been affected by the beetle

Removal of beetle kill trees is necessary for overall forest health. There are a few ways for a beetle infested forest to recover. One of the solutions for regeneration is wildfire, something that is both fought and dangerous in our dry climate. The other solution is logging, removing dead trees and burning slash. Mechanical logging and burning can open up seed cones, leading to forest re-gen.

We offer a wide variety of logging practices, ranging from full scale large acreage jobs to small low impact jobs. Clear cuts can be performed with large, high output equipment. Smaller and more selective jobs can be done with lighter and smaller equipment to decrease ground disturbance.

Logging is a great way to turn your unhealthy and unusable property into a healthy forest that will produce new growth and and provide animal habitat
